Project Notes:

Although an unfinished basement space, making it a "blank slate" for design, this project was a challenging one! Our main focus here was water intrusion remedies and long term solutions to make sure that, with regular maintenance, the finished space would stay dry when it was done. This is a home that is at a lower grade than the neighboring house with sandy soil. And in one of the wettest years in Minnesota history, it was no easy feat to come up with a quick, foolproof plan for waterproofing, but we did find a remedy and the finished product of this remodel is adorable. The exposed chimney brick in the living room really adds something special, and we are loving the dark carpet and 3" black hex tiles!
