Updated Home in Keewaydin
The goal of this project was to create more efficient spaces for a busy young family; the kitchen was closed off and cramped, and the half story layout was not very practical as it was. The new design included a more open, functional kitchen layout and an owner's suite concept in the half story with a large, full bath. Half stories can be tricky to navigate from a design standpoint because of the roof lines, but we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to combine two rooms into one to make a spacious bath with a spa-like feel that included a large walk-in shower, free standing tub, and custom double vanity. Installing new wood treads to the upper level and enameling the existing built-ins and trim/doors were the final cosmetic updates needed to make the house feel brand new once the project was complete.
